Move or improve, that is the question… Kitchen Renovation

Kitchen Renovation

Here at KAM, we’ve recently seen a surging trend involving the redesign of the hub of the home – The Kitchen. This is now replaced by a new idea called “Living space” – there are lots of ways to reach this conclusion within the house, be it an extension or two or three rooms becoming one.

The old-fashioned concept of a parlour dining room and a kitchen being individual rooms for the family (to use separately) has been scrapped, and a brand new trend of ‘all-in-one’ with ‘big is beautiful’ seems to be the way forward.

The Carrigan’s Kitchen Renovation is an absolutely classic example of this and their journey to achieve the stunning results makes for an exciting read.

Looking to move and do a Kitchen Renovation to an older property was a passion, Dave had harboured for quite some time, but nothing on the market seemed to fit the dream.

After many hours of family discussions, it was decided that maybe a third extension with a new kitchen could be a better plan.

The Carrigan’s have lived in their family home for over 12 years and with bringing two children up within it, it holds many memories that they were not quite ready to leave.

With plans passed and ideas at the ready, they came to visit us at KAM. The first thing that struck Michelle was the quality of our displays and the overall feel of our showroom. She admits that Dave has the vision and she struggles to see this unless it’s there for her to look at.

Instantly Michelle fell in love with “The Bank” – this consists of four tall larder units housing a full height fridge-freezer with two ovens (a steam oven and combination microwave).

This was her only stipulation after viewing it on display in the showroom. “I left my husband and Carole to it after I got my Wish.”

This is sometimes a wise decision, Carole is mainly well known for her practical eye and can solve most everyday issues in a kitchen which over time can become a real bug-bare.

Letting the experts advise really does pay off in the end. The Carrigan’s enjoyed working alongside Carole and found her to be very knowledgeable helpful and not ‘pushy’ at any stage. In fact, they commented on how it felt like a guiding-hand with no pressure or sales pitch at any stage.

I was suitably impressed by the way this room flows and what a stunning contrast of crisp white quartz surfaces ‘Polar Blanc’ mixed in with the impressive Pronorm Y-line range in Black Oak. Teamed up with Neff appliances, including the fantastic induction hob a real must now in today’s kitchen and the ultimate Quooker fusion square tap for instant boiling water! A very neatly tucked away wine fridge to finish off makes for all points covered in this stunning kitchen, with a real element of rustic textures leading you straight out into the family garden and relaxing space.

A big thank you to The Carrigan’s for allowing me to feature their story of your Kitchen Renovation and an even bigger thank you to Eric, aptly named after Dave’s hero at Man United but don’t let that put you off.
