The Millers

Linda and Keith are no strangers to KAM Design. This will be their third kitchen now with us. It’s an absolute pleasure every time to work with them.

Linda and Keith decided to downsize from their family home to a smaller residence now the children have flown the nest and set up their own homes. They do have a tendency to pop in and regularly visit especially at the holiday season.

This meant that the current size of the kitchen area in the new property was not adequate to fit them all in and socialise as they had always done.  Time to take action cue the architect and trusty local builder with excellent reviews and workmanship.

This whole room took my breath away, Immediately hit by how light and open the entire place felt, yet cosy and warm at the same time.

The Lantern ceilings really open things and create a feeling of space. Linda’s choice in colour scheme is intensely exquisite and on trend to say the least. Soft greys are the focal point but cleverly mixed in the odd soft furnishing piece in mustard, this blends perfectly with the tones around the room.

The choice of in-frame door is the classic Langton from the Burbidge collection main body of the kitchen in “soft grey” with the amply sized island in contrasting mink, I bet this area will see some festive gatherings and family fun this Christmas.

Cosmic black granite complementing both door tones perfectly. This has been cleverly commissioned by the granite company on request of the miller’s and further used to create a stunning table in the dining part of the room to seat 6 very impressive and unique.

All the appliances are by Neff which include 2 ovens 1 pyro for standard cooking and one full steam oven for 900 gas on glass hob to create the look of the range.

The chimney breast created by our designer cleverly hides the canopy hood and again forms the traditional look perfectly. Great use of wall microwave to free up space on the worktops.

The bank holds a handy pullout and larder cupboard and the fabulous full-size Fridge with ice box an essential item when ice is needed for the impressive Gin collection Linda and Keith own!

Dishwasher with time light this helps as it’s an extremely quiet model. Quooker tap the absolute must have, I always say that one day this will become the standard item in future kitchens and not just on the wish list.

Linda and Keith’s  Utility room is of a more simplistic door in the Burbidge range Marlow painted soft grey.

This room is an entrance and exit for the delightful trio Annie, Ruby and Sasha low maintenance to clean with a Belfast sink and Perrin and Rowe spray tap to deal with the muddy paws after walkies. The use of cosmic black solid tops makes for the feeling that the kitchen continues in this very serviceable room.

As always every angel has been thought about and resolved by Nicola, every box ticked and every scenario covered from a quick G&T to a full-size family feast and the preparation. It’s so lovely to work with clients on their kitchen journeys especially when they return again and again…

Thank you Mr & Mrs Miller for allowing us to feature your beautiful kitchen project, and for yet again using KAM Design in really does pay to “Invest in Quality” every time.
